Preface

Dirk Collins and One Eyed Bird were asked to coordinate and help develop the EpicQuest brand from conception through launch implementation and beyond.

The Point

  • To create a new, one of a kind, luxury adventure travel brand from the ground up
  • Develop a strategy and plan to launch the brand as an industry leader out of the gate
  • Establish EpicQuest as something new and unique in the crowded adventure travel arena
  • Incorporate existing operator brands into the new company while balancing a brand equity versus brand consistency issue
  • Develop a set of marketing tools and the collateral necessary to launch the brand and then drive it’s upward rise per the marketing plan and outlined strategy

Our Story

One Eyed Bird worked with the EpicQuest executive team to develop a marketing plan and strategy that would launch the brand in way that would establish it as the leading provider of once in a lifetime adventures. A staged rollout was initiated where key industry influencers were made aware of the new company long before it launched thus creating a buzz that leaked from the inside out driving excitement and ground swell for the new brand. Key components of this initiative were high quality lifestyle driven promo films, word of mouth marketing within the action sports and outdoor industries and an event at a key industry tradeshow.

While this initial buzz was being generated OEB assembled a team of venders that would help create the necessary branding tools and ongoing collateral that were necessary to fully launch the brand. Once the team was assembled One Eyed Bird oversaw and managed them from a creative direction while acting as both the creative director and liaison between the venders and the EpicQuest executive team. The outcome yielded a streamlined creative process where both the vendors and the client’s needs and concerns were acknowledged and the resulting brand assets were unique and represented what the EpicQuest team envisioned. These same assets have remained in tact and have created a clear path for the company’s ongoing brand and marketing direction.

Following the development of the brand assets OEB had continued oversight of the companies initial advertising, launch events, website design and development, PR, film production, sales collateral design and editorial partners. Additionally, OEB worked with EpicQuest on platform development, partnerships the building of the company’s athlete program.
EpicQuest remains an OEB client from a high level consulting perspective.
